National Youth (Arts) Week
Fourth Annual Art-a-thon
May 1 to 7
Are you between the ages of 14 and 19? If so, join in the celebrations during National Youth Week!
Research supports the role of recreation in the positive development of youth, recognizing that their participation in the social, economic, and civic landscape of a community leads to access, equity, and justice. National Youth Week is endorsed by the Canadian Parks and Recreation Association.
The week of festivities coincides with National Youth Arts Week, a project of the Arts Network for Children and Youth as supported by Canadian Heritage and the Michaelle Jean Foundation. ANCY was established in 1999 by a group of arts practitioners with a vision of sustainable arts programming for children and youth in communities across Canada.
Our Youth Council is working with other organizations City wide to develop a fun-filled day of art-making, history, music, food and film. Check our website for updates, or visit the Council's Facebook page: www.facebook.com/MuseumLondonYouth and blog: www.museumlondo nyouthcouncil.tumblr.com.

The Youth Council is an engaged group of active teens between the ages of 14 and 19 who produce cultural activities related to the Museum's mandate of art and history. Through art and artistic processes, participants gain hands-on experience that is creative, socially conscious and practical, while developing valuable leadership skills. Do you want to learn about art, work with artists, visit nearby galleries, host events, and receive volunteer hours for your work? Then the Council is right for you!
